Dear Participants,

On behalf of HEC and my own behalf, I would like to extend to you and through you, our sincerest sympathy to all the bereaved families and victims of Monday’s deadly earthquake.

Our hearts are with the Chinese people. We want to assure you of both our concern for those who are suffering and our admiration for the quick response of the Chinese authorities at such short notice to bring survivors out from the rubble.

We strongly believe the Chinese leadership will help the residents affected overcome their hardships so they can return to normal life as soon as possible. Your people’s fundraising results to support the survivors and fund reconstruction are to be especially commended.

We hope none of your family members were in the Sichuan province on Monday. Our joint program has brought our respective teams closer in many ways and we wanted to express our solidarity with you in this difficult time.
