GOLDMAN SACHS’10,000 WOMEN Initiative recruiting in China

Goldman Sachs 10000 Women Initiative supports partnerships with universities and development organizations to provide a generation of women in under-served areas around the world with a business and management education. 10,000 Women is one of Goldman Sachs’ largest corporate charity programs. Sponsored and designed by Goldman Sachs, the program will be delivered and developped by HEC Paris with Tsinghua School of Economics and Management in Beijing to help reinforce Chinese female entrepreneurship so as to enhance the participation of Chinese female entrepreneurs in the development of China and to develop their knowledge, skills and networks necessary to create innovative and sustainable business in China through an integrated management education.

This certificate program will train Chinese women who aspire to or currently operate their own business, aiming to provide them with the integrated entrepreneurial and managerial education with a global perspective. The program will train 450 Chinese women entrepreneurs over 5 years. All participants will have the 10000-dollar scholarship of “Goldman Sachs 10000 Women Initiative” including school fee, material and tea-break. The first session will start in May 2009.

Throughout the entire training:
• Participants will attend conferences on business management;
• Participants will gain integrated managerial knowledge, techniques and practical training;
• Participants will master the tools of strategic planning for business creation;
• Participants will experience one-on-one business creation coaching by professors;
• Participants will attend conferences once or twice every month with famous business leaders, business venturers and share expertise and network with each other;
• Participants will apply what they have learned in business planning study groups and in business planning competitions (locally relevant case studies);
• Interchange activities with program organizers, alumni from Tsinghua School of Economics and HEC Paris and professors.

Target participants:
This program is dedicated to Chinese female entrepreneurs who have great leadership potentials, high business-creation drive and are passionate about their career. All of those Chinese female entrepreneurs who are preparing or have already created their own business will be able to apply for the program. Their profile must also respect the following conditions:
• Undergraduates or above degree
• Total family income less than 100,000 RMB
• In preparation of business creation or less then 3 years’ experience in business creation
• Maximum 35 years old

Program schedule:
May to August 2009, 1-2 courses/month, 3-6 days/course. 24 days in total.

Training process:
The training will be arranged in various forms: indoor classes, study groups, conferences, case studies, on-one-on coaching and company visits. Courses will be delivered in English and Chinese. Simultaneous interpretation is prepared for courses delivered only in English.

Courses are organized through module delivery:
Module 1: planning new enterprise
Seize business creation opportunities, business creation model, business planning.

Module 2: developing new enterprise
New market development, business plan accounting, management communication, new enterprise organization, new enterprise operation, intellectual copyright.

Module 3: managing the development of new enterprise
Leadership, creativity, development management.
