HEC EMBA Shanghai Class

The HEC EMBA Shanghai Class has been developed to strengthen the technical expertise and leadership skills of Executives in China to stimulate economic development and facilitate further integration into the world economy. It is presented under the auspices of the Training Centre of the National development and Reform Commission(NDRC) and is internationally accredited and recognized by the French Ministry of Education. It is open to experienced managers largely from the private sector. Local and international participants from Chinese and non-Chinese firms are welcome to apply. HEC Paris has successfully held 5 EMBA classes in Beijing and Shanghai since 2006. 

Unique program

Delivered by top HEC Paris faculty, this unique program is an intensive course of study for select senior managers with a focus on market-oriented themes and general management relevant to Chinese executives navigating in today’s complex global business environment. Taught in English, participants contribute actively to the learning process by applying their personal and professional experience to the course.

In addition to the Shanghai modules, a required one-week study trip to Paris allows participants a rare opportunity to explore, first hand, strategic business issues affecting globalization and closely experience the charm of HEC campus.

Participants who successfully complete the course of study earn an Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) degree from HEC Paris. Admissions criteria

The admissions process for the HEC Executive MBA China is rigorous. Only those individuals who demonstrate exceptional professional accomplishment and the potential to be drivers of reform within their organization are selected. Successful Executive MBA participants are ambitious team players and are clearly committed to their organizations. They come not only to learn, but also to teach and to share knowledge with their peers. Their potential for leadership has been confirmed, and their role in implementing change to stimulate economic development in China is clear.

The HEC Executive MBA China looks for an overall balance between several criteria, including:

  • Academic accomplishment
  • Professional experience and career progression
  • Motivation for an Executive MBA
  • Leadership potential

Participation in the program is intended for managers who fulfill the following criteria:

  • Hold at least a Bachelor degree, in any subject
  • Have a minimum of 8 years professional experience, 5years in a managerial position

The program is delivered in English with Chinese translation and simultaneous interpretation. However, in order to fully benefit from the teaching, English is highly recommended.
