HEC EMBA Beijing Class

 

The HEC Executive MBA China program has been developed to strengthen the technical expertise and leadership skills of Executives in China to stimulate economic development and facilitate further integration into the world economy. It is presented under the auspices of the Education and Training Centre for Officials and Entrepreneurs (ETCOE) for the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and is internationally accredited and recognized by the French Ministry of Education. It is open to participants coming from the private sector and MNCs. HEC Paris has successfully held 4 classes in Beijing and Shanghai since 2006.

In addition to the Beijing modules, a required one-week study trip to Paris allows participants a rare opportunity to explore, first hand, strategic business issues affecting globalization.

Participants who successfully complete the course of study earn an Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) degree from HEC Paris. This requires satisfactory attendance, active class participation and the submission of written work.

The SASAC-HEC EMBA program uses the same academic planning, methodology, materials and managements as those of the EMBA program in HEC France. HEC selects the most experienced professors to deliver the courses in China, while including the assistance of local Chinese Teaching Assistants. The objective of the program is to give high level training to the Chinese central companies’ executives and to allow them to contribute to China’s development within the context of State reforms and increasing international competition.”

Why an Executive MBA?

The Executive MBA is a practical, generalist program providing a set of fundamental tools and skills for experienced managers who wish to add both breadth and depth to their knowledge. The EMBA enables the participant to learn not only from the faculty but also from the other participants, who bring to the classroom a wealth of practical business experience from a wide spectrum of industries and management functions. It provides a unique opportunity for participants to acquire the skills and global vision they require to successfully lead their organizations through challenging landscapes. Finally, its part-time format allows participants to engage in an intensive learning experience, without interruption to their careers.

Admissions Criteria

The admissions process for the HEC Executive MBA China program is rigorous. Only those individuals who demonstrate exceptional professional accomplishment and the potential to be drivers of reform within their organization are selected. Successful Executive MBA participants are ambitious team players and are clearly committed to their organizations. They come not only to learn, but also to teach and to share knowledge with their peers. Their potential for leadership has been confirmed, and their role in implementing change to stimulate economic development in China is clear. Participants are approved by the training center of the SASAC.

The HEC Executive MBA China program looks for an overall balance between several criteria, including:

  • Academic accomplishment
  • Professional experience and career progression
  • Motivation for an Executive MBA
  • Leadership potential

Participation in the program is intended for managers who fulfill the following criteria:

  • Hold at least a Bachelor degree, in any subject
  • Have a minimum of 8 years professional experience, 5 years in a managerial position
  • A working knowledge of English is recommended
  • Be supported by their company (be provided the time necessary to participate in the program).

The program is delivered in English with Chinese translation and simultaneous interpretation. However, in order to fully benefit from the teaching, English is highly recommended.

Non-Chinese participants, as well as participants coming from private enterprises and multinationals are welcome to apply.

In order to create a good study environment for the participants and improve study efficiency, we have chosen CNPC Management Training Institute as the school for teaching modules of HEC EMBA Beijing Class.

CNPC Managers Training Institute, founded in 1984, has been highly recognized as the "Civilized Unit of Central Government Organization” as well as "Outstanding Education Unit” under the Central Party School. With an in-campus training capacity up to 800 people, CNPC Managers Training Institute is mainly committed to provide training service for senior managers of enterprises and public institutions.
